Hi, I'm Geoff, the founder and maker behind Wilde's Leatherwork.

​

Every wallet, card holder and leather good you see here has been designed, cut, stitched and finished entirely by me in Blackburn, Lancashire.

 

This isn't a large workshop.

​

It's not a factory.

​

It's not a team of craftspeople.

​

It's just me.

​

I make the products, answer the emails, photograph the goods, pack the orders and run the business.

​

Why I Started Wilde's Leatherwork

​

The truth is, I got fed up.

​

Like many people, I'd spent years buying products that looked great online but failed far sooner than they should have. Wallets split apart. Belts cracked. Stitching failed. Leather peeled.

​

I found myself spending more money replacing products than I would have spent buying something properly made in the first place.

​

After wasting hundreds of pounds on disappointing leather goods, I decided to learn how to make my own.

​

What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession.

​

I spent years learning traditional leatherworking techniques, experimenting with materials, studying construction methods and understanding what separates a product that lasts five years from one that lasts thirty.

​

I started making leather goods in 2017 and launched Wilde's Leatherwork in 2020.

​

Since then, I've continually invested my time, energy and personal income back into improving my craft, tools, materials and products.

​

The Belt That Changed Everything

​

One of the biggest influences on my work came after my Grandad passed away.

​

I inherited his leather belt.

​

It was over thirty years old.

​

The leather was worn, softened and full of character, yet it remained strong, functional and beautiful.

​

That belt represented far more than the leather itself.

​

It carried memories.

​

It carried history.

​

It carried the values of the man who wore it.

​

It taught me that truly well-made items can outlive trends, fashions and even generations.

That lesson shapes every product I make today.

I learnt the same lesson from my dog Max.

After he passed away, I kept his old leather collar.

​

Years later, it's still one of my most treasured possessions.
